Where Greensboro and Guilford County legal notices are published: the county's legal notices site, the state press association's notices site and city agendas.

Last checked Oct. 11, 2026. This page is an index, not the official publication of any notice. Each notice’s legal home is the newspaper or government site where it is published; follow the links below. For questions about a notice, call the office named in it.

Public notices tell residents about government actions that could affect them: hearings, rezonings, budgets, bids, foreclosures, estate filings, unclaimed property and more. In Greensboro they appear in three places.

Where to look

The county runs a central searchable database of its legal notices, with both active and archived notices. You can filter by category, keyword, jurisdiction and publication date. Categories include:

  • Bids, proposals and notices to contractors
  • Governmental budget, financial and meeting notices
  • Public hearings, ordinances, and planning and development notices
  • Elections
  • Delinquent taxes, tax foreclosure notices and tax foreclosure sales
  • Notices of foreclosure and sheriff’s execution sales
  • Fictitious business names (DBA)
  • Lien sales, seizures, unclaimed property and public sales of personal property

The site’s jurisdiction filter covers Guilford County and the towns of High Point, Oak Ridge, Pleasant Garden, Stokesdale and Summerfield.

2. North Carolina newspaper notices

The North Carolina Press Association’s ncnotices.com compiles public notices first published in North Carolina newspapers and updates them after each paper’s publishing date. It is free to search. According to the association, newspaper notices in North Carolina cover meetings, elections, annexations, budgets, property taxes, hearings, delinquent payments, ordinances and foreclosures, and for the courts, estates, lawsuits, custody filings and assumed business names.

Search by keyword, newspaper or category; popular searches include foreclosures, construction bids and unclaimed property.

3. City of Greensboro

The City Council, the Planning and Zoning Commission, the Board of Adjustment and other city boards post agendas and meeting materials on the city’s Legistar calendar. Rezoning requests and other items that need a public hearing appear there before the meeting. Our building permits and zoning guide lists when each planning board meets.
